THE SKIN CHEMICAL PEEL | by TRANSFORM Cosmetic Surgery

Since I remember myself, I always had various skin problems, included acne that I finally treated it with a good diet. Although, I still do not a have the privilege that some people have, the perfect and smooth skin. And for me a clear and perfect skin means confidence. There are periods of my life when I observe that my skin becomes more rough and loses its natural brightness. I normally use some exfoliating peeling gels but now it was time to take more drastic measures.

That’s how I decided to try a cosmetic facial treatment. In the beginning I had no idea where to go, who to trust. So I made my own research to find the perfect clinic here in London. After some discussions I had with some friends and a visit in their website, I decided that TRANSFORM clinic where the place I wanted to choose. The problem with me was that I had no idea what my skin needed so I decided to discuss my skin condition first with an aesthetician of the clinic. After our discussion we conclude that my skin needed a professional chemical peel treatment that will be completed in 3 visits. Facial peels aim to remove the dead skin cells from the skins surface to allow new healthy skin cells to grow back creating smoother looking skin. They can also be used to treat blemishes, scars and help reduce the signs of ageing.

My first visit was quite short as the whole process was completed in 30 minutes included the time I took to fill some documents for health safety reasons. The aesthetician was really friendly and helpful and she was trying to explain me in details why my skin needs the treatment and what effects the peel will have finally. A peel product was applied on my skin. For the first 2-3 minutes i was feeling a deep burn on my skin and the smell was quite intense, imagine like smelling fire water for some minutes. Then this feeling of burn went away making me feel more calm. The product stayed on my face for approximately 15 minutes. Honestly it must be one of the easiest cosmetic treatments I suppose. Instructions of what skincare I should follow included daily suncream application, moisturisation with my cream and also a product that Transform clinic provided me for better effects. I will speak about that later in another post.

So what the results of the 1st part of my treatment were? A slightly peeling in some parts of my skin the next day and of course immediately SMOOTHER skin that lasted for 2-3 days. I have booked my next appointment in 2 weeks and I can’t wait to see the final results!

This sounds like a really cool experience. I’ve done lots of at home treatments on myself but it sounds really nice to be able to go to someone who really knows what they are doing and who has access to professional equipment.

The thought of peels always seem so harsh to me, but maybe that’s just because I watched Sex and the City a few too many times? I always envision Samantha getting that terrible chemical peel (hahah!). Anyway, after reading this, maybe I’ll have to try it for myself some time? Good luck lady!

    Hi,
Like you I have skin problems and I really understand why you chose to go for something a bit more drastic. I went myself for chemical peelings a couple of years ago but honestly I wasn’t impress with the result.
Do you know which peeling brand they used? In my case it was Neostrata (for dermatologist).
